Prime Minister: Armenia needs to introduce a Jury Institute to restore public trust
ArmInfo. Reforms in Armenia's judicial system will continue. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement during a press-briefing on January 29.
Specifically, in the context of ongoing constitutional reforms, he pointed out the necessity to introduce a Jury Institute in Armenia. He argued that such a system would create a direct, concrete, and organic connection between the judiciary and the public.
Furthermore, the head of government noted that in 2018-2019, the vast majority of letters addressed to him were related to the courts, specifically regarding what citizens perceived as unfair and unfounded judicial decisions. However, Pashinyan assured that the number of such letters has now decreased tenfold.
