Girls basketball: Mediapolis rains down threes on Davis County

MEDIAPOLIS -- The National Weather Service declared Wednesday a red-flag day for high risk of fire. The only thing on fire Wednesday night was the Mediapolis High School girls basketball team. The Bullettes scorched the nets for 15 3-pointers in the first half alone on their way to a 76-42 rout of Davis County in a Class 3A regional semifinal game on the Vernon "Bud" McLearn Court at Mediapolis High School. Eighth-ranked Mediapolis (23-0) advances to a Class 3A regional final to face sixth-ranked PCM (22-1) at 7 p.m. Saturday at Monroe. Davis County bows out with a 16-7 record.
