EU again refutes Azerbaijani disinformation about accumulation of Armenian troops on border with Azerbaijan
ArmInfo. The European Union again refuted Azerbaijani disinformation about the accumulation of
Armenian troops on the border with Azerbaijan. Thus, denying the claims of the Azerbaijani side, the EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA) wrote on its Twitter (X) page, in particular: "EUMA again patrolled on the Armenian side of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border today, our monitors didn't observe any unusual military movements. It was a calm
and peaceful Easter Monday."
Reposting this EUMA post, EU Special Representative for the South
Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar noted that the EU
civilian mission performs an important function in ensuring
transparency.
"The EUMA is performing an essential function to ensure transparency.
It is open to engagement with Azerbaijan as well; if there are
concerns these need to be addressed in a safe environment, like
EUMMGeorgia is providing through its regular contacts with all
sides," Klaar added.
And the French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies noted that
the EU mission in Armenia is once again fulfilling its mandate.
"Present on the ground, as close as possible to the military contact
lines, dispels rumors and false news and provides impartial
information to the international community," the French diplomat
emphasized.
