The protesters pointed out that the military and political leaders of Artsakh, as well as ordinary citizens detained for their beliefs and patriotism, are currently in Azerbaijani captivity. A similar situation, they noted, is unfolding in Armenia, where dozens of political prisoners are being held for their views, that go against the current Armenian government. Among those imprisoned, are public and political figures, clergy, and activists fighting for the rights of their people.
Representatives of the RPA student organization condemned the silence and inaction, emphasizing that what is happening in Armenia and Azerbaijan contradicts the principles they have advocated for many years in Armenia.
In turn, National Assembly deputy Tigran Abrahamyan from the opposition "With Honor" faction recalled that, according to human rights organizations, approximately 80 Armenians are in Azerbaijani captivity after the 44-day war. In this regard, the deputy expressed regret that international organizations working to protect human rights are either silent or not paying sufficient attention to these issues. He also noted that those organizations that have spoken for years about the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination are currently failing to respond to Azerbaijan's crimes, particularly, the illegal detention of Armenians in prisons. "Over the past 7-8 years, following the well-known events of 2018 (the Velvet Revolution - ed.), many people have found themselves behind bars simply for their opinions. The goal of this protest is to once again draw the attention of international organizations to the illegal actions in Armenia and Azerbaijan and to call on them to take action," Abrahamyan concluded.
At the end of the protest, participants presented the EU Delegation to Armenia with Mark Manson's book, "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fck," which, they said, symbolizes the silence of international organizations.
