Since 2008, 23 teams in the league have started rookie quarterbacks, with only eight having finished that season with a winning record

The Patriots kicked off the 2021 season with a tough one-point loss to their divisional rival Miami Dolphins. New England looked poised to take a late lead when Damien Harris' fumble gave the ball back to Miami and the Dolphins would close things out on the ensuing drive.

The 49ers' offense got cooking early and Detroit's defense had few answers. San Francisco scored touchdowns on three of their first four possessions to jump out to a big early lead.

The Lions suffered a number of what looked like minor injuries in Sunday's 41-33 loss to San Francisco at Ford Field, but there was one injury that Lions head coach Dan Campbell seemed a little worried about after the game.

Second-year cornerback Jeff Okudah left the game in the fourth quarter after suffering a non-contact injury to his lower left leg.

SEWELL'S DEBUT

In the mind of Detroit Lions rookie tackle Penei Sewell, nothing but perfection is acceptable when evaluating his own game.
