Blue Jays trade John Axford to Brewers

Brewers' all-time single-season saves leader John Axford is returning to Milwaukee.

The Toronto Blue Jays traded the right-hander to Milwaukee on Monday for cash considerations. Axford, who signed a minor league deal with the Jays in June, was not on the team's 40-man roster, making him eligible to be dealt past the trade deadline.
