Angels' Anthony Rendon to undergo season-ending hip surgery

Los Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon will undergo season-ending surgery on his right hip, the team announced Wednesday.

Rendon last played in a game on July 4. He was moved from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL after the announcement.

Rendon was placed on the IL three times this season due to with groin, knee and hamstring injuries. He apparently began having hip woes after being placed on the IL in e
