Yanks activate Jordan Montgomery, Gary Sanchez

The New York Yankees activated left-handed pitcher Jordan Montgomery and catcher Gary Sanchez off the COVID-19 injured list Tuesday ahead of their day-night doubleheader against Boston.

Montgomery will take the mound in Game 1 in Tuesday's matinee.

The team also appointed RHP Luis Gil as their 27th man for the twin bill. Gil will be the starter in the nightcap.
