Serbia slams Luxembourg in World Cup qualification

BELGRADE, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Serbian men's national football team defeated Luxembourg 4-1 in a FIFA World Cup qualifying match in Belgrade on Saturday, overtaking Portugal on top of the European zone's Group A.

The home team playing in front of some 15,000 fans at the Rajko Mitic stadium gained a 2-0 lead in the first half thanks to a brace of Aleksandar Mitrovic on 22 and 35 minutes.
