Report: Bears releasing veteran WR Breshad Perriman

The Chicago Bears plan to release wide receiver Breshad Perriman ahead of Monday night's game in Pittsburgh, ESPN reported Sunday.

The move could clear the way for the Bears (3-5) to activate running back David Montgomery from injured reserve to face the Steelers (4-3).

Perriman, 28, joined the Bears in September after being released by the Detroit Lions. He has been inactive every game this season.
