Mariners reinstate 1B/DH Carlos Santana

Seattle Mariners first baseman/designated hitter Carlos Santana was reinstated from the restricted list prior to Saturday's game against the Texas Rangers in Arlington, Texas.

The Mariners optioned infielder Kevin Padlo to Triple-A Tacoma following Friday's 8-3 victory over the Rangers.

Santana, 36, was placed on the list Friday due to a family emergency.
