Uruguay name preliminary World Cup squad

MONTEVIDEO, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Uruguay manager Diego Alonso has named 25 Europe-based players in his preliminary 51-man squad for this year's FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The list includes veteran strikers Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani as well as 36-year-old Velez Sarsfield defender Diego Godin, all of whom will likely be playing in their last World Cup.
