Original Met Frank Thomas passes away at 93

Former three-time All-Star outfielder Frank Thomas died on Monday at age 93, the New York Mets announced.

Thomas, who held the Mets' single-season home run record (34 in 1962) for close to a decade, passed away in Pittsburgh while at an assisted living facility.

Thomas is not to be confused with former Chicago White Sox Hall of Famer Frank Thomas, who starred with the White Sox in the 1990s.
