Shiffrin wins record-breaking World Cup race in Italy

GENEVA, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- American Mikaela Shiffrin became the women's skier with the most World Cup victories after she won a giant slalom race in Kronplatz, Italy, on Tuesday.

Shiffrin, 27, broke the world record of 82 wins set by her compatriot Lindsey Vonn, with her 83rd FIS World Cup win in a dominant style.

Switzerland's Lara Gut-Behrami was 0.45 seconds behind the winner and Italy's Federica Brig
