Leafs C Auston Matthews (knee) to return Wednesday

Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews will return to the lineup on Wednesday night against the visiting Chicago Blackhawks, coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed.

Matthews, who is the reigning Hart Trophy winner, hasn't played since Jan. 25 when he sustained a knee sprain in a 3-2 win against the New York Rangers.

In his absence, the Maple Leafs have a 2-3-0 record.
