Decorated swimmer Katie Ledecky lost a race in the United States for the first time since 2014 when Canadian Summer McIntosh won the 200-meter freestyle at a meet in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Swimming Friday night at the Pro Series event, McIntosh, 16, touched the wall in 1 minute, 54.13 seconds, 0.83 seconds ahead of Ledecky, who turns 26 this month. McIntosh set a world junior record in the process.
