Union edge Atlas in first leg of CCL quarterfinal

Daniel Gazdag converted a penalty kick in the 89th minute to give the Philadelphia Union a 1-0 win over Mexico's Atlas on Tuesday at Chester, Pa., in the first leg of a CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal series.

The second leg of the total-goal series will be played April 12 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
