Sri Lanka's meteorological department issues heat index advisory

COLOMBO, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's Department of Meteorology issued a heat index advisory for Sunday, warning the public of increased temperatures.

The department said those living in the Eastern and North Central provinces and in Kurunegala, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Mannar, Moneragala and Hambantota districts must be cautious of high temperatures.
