Capitals part with two assistant coaches
Three days after mutually parting ways with head coach Peter Laviolette, the Washington Capitals announced Monday that assistant coaches Kevin McCarthy and Blaine Forsythe would not return next season.
Forsythe had worked with the Capitals for 17 seasons -- starting as a video coach in 2006-07, spending the 2008-09 season as a scout and then re-joining the staff as an assistant coach from 2009-10 onward.
