Sabres F Zemgus Girgensons signs 1-year contract
Buffalo Sabres forward Zemgus Girgensons signed a one-year contract worth $2.5 million on Tuesday.
Girgensons, 29, would have been eligible for unrestricted free agency on July 1.
The Latvian is the team's longest-tenured player, with 625 games played since being selected by the Sabres with the 14th overall pick of the 2012 NHL Draft.
