Hashemi Named Caretaker of Iran's Ministry of Sport

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Kioumars Hashemi was appointed as the caretaker of Iran's Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs.

He replaced Hamid Sajadi, who resigned from his post due to his physical health condition.

Sajadi suffered serious injuries in a helicopter crash in February.

Kioumars Hashemi served as the president of the National Olympic Committee of Iran from 2014 to 2018.
