Penguins sign F Drew O'Connor, avoid arbitration

The Pittsburgh Penguins signed forward Drew O'Connor to a two-year, $1.85 million contract on Wednesday, avoiding arbitration.

The two sides were scheduled for a hearing on Friday.

O'Connor, 25, played in 46 games for Pittsburgh last season, recording 11 points (five goals, six assists).
