Giants activate INF Mark Mathias for first time

The San Francisco Giants recalled newly-acquired infielder Mark Mathias from Triple-A Sacramento in advance of Sunday's game against the Oakland Athletics.
Mathias fills the roster spot of third baseman Casey Schmitt, who was optioned to the Triple-A club.
Mathias, 29, was acquired from the Seattle Mariners on Monday along with AJ Pollock. He is set to make his Giants de
