White Sox 1B Tim Elko has surgery for torn ACL

Chicago White Sox first baseman Tim Elko is recovering from surgery Tuesday to repair a torn right ACL.

An estimated eight-month rehabilitation timeline means Elko, 26, will miss at least half of the 2026 season.

Elko made his major league debut in May and batted .134 with four homers and eight RBIs in 23 games.

It's not clear when he sustained the injury
