A new program in central Florida is training everyday people to stop potential school shooters. School safety guardians have the job of protecting students and teachers on campuses that do not have their own police officers. A state law passed after the deadly Parkland school shooting gives districts the option to arm certain teachers, school staff, or school safety guardians. Adriana Diaz reports.

200+ common medications may cause depression, study finds

New research warns depression could be a side effect of more than 200 commonly prescribed medications. They include beta-blockers for blood pressure, birth control pills, antacids and painkillers. Depression rates more than tripled when people used at least three drugs with the possible side effect, compared to people who take none of those medications. Dr. Tara Narula, a cardiologist at Northwell Health, joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss the study's findings and what patients should do if they're concerned.

U.S. decision on joint military exercises with South Korea "very reversible," Winnefeld says

CBS News military and homeland security analyst Sandy Winnefeld, a retired Navy admiral and former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss Tuesday's historic summit between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. He says he's "cautiously optimistic" and weighs in on the halt of joint military exercises with South Korea. He also says it would be "wise" to keep U.S. military presence on the Korean Peninsula.

World Cup 2026: U.S., Canada and Mexico win united bid

North America has been awarded the 2026 World Cup. The united bid is a joint effort between Canada, Mexico and the U.S. Delegates from more than 200 countries gathered in Moscow chose the North America bid over Morocco. Sixty of the games in 2026 will be played in the U.S. including the championship match. Ten games will be played in Canada and 10 in Mexico. The U.S. last hosted the World Cup in 1994.

Women detail explosive allegations against USC gynecologist

Another woman is detailing allegations against a longtime gynecologist at the University of Southern California. She's joined 23 other women in an amended lawsuit accusing Dr. George Tyndall of sexual misconduct including assaulting patients under the guise of medical treatment.
