Thai soldier live streams shooting spree

A Thai soldier went on a shooting spree in the northeast part of the country, about 155 miles from Bangkok. At least ten people are reported dead, many at a shopping mall. The soldier reportedly live streamed some of the attack. He's not been apprehended.

Sanders and Buttigieg lead New Hampshire polls

The Democratic presidential contenders are crisscrossing New Hampshire campaigning ahead of the nation's first primary. All of them making their last weekend pitch to voters and Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren attacked the presumed frontrunners. The latest polls show a tight race led by Bernie Sanders with Pete Buttigieg, a close second. Nikole Killion reports.

Trump fires impeachment witnesses

Two days after his acquittal, President Trump fired witnesses who testified against him at the impeachment hearings. Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman was fired late Friday afternoon. Some 15 minutes later, Vindman's twin brother was dismissed from his White House post. Two hours later, E.U. Ambassador Gordon Sundland was also fired. Paula Reid reports.

Thailand mall shooting leaves 20 dead, 30 injured

A soldier shot multiple people in northeastern Thailand on Saturday, killing at least 20 people while live-streaming part of the rampage, and was holed up in a popular shopping mall, authorities said. At least 31 people were wounded. Roxana Saberi reports.



First American citizen dies of coronavirus in China

The number of people stricken by the deadly coronavirus is rising rapidly. More than 720 people have died, all but one in China. Worldwide, nearly 35,000 people have been infected. And the first American has died from the virus, a 60-year-old who had been hospitalized in Wuhan, China. Debora Patta reports.

On April 11, 1966, Airman 1st Class William Pitsenbarger personally saved more than 60 service members who had been ambushed by the Viet Cong. He was killed in action while trying to help the injured. The survivors of that battle recommended him for the Medal of Honor, a tribute that would not be fulfilled for nearly 35 years.
