Divya Deshmukh gets the wild card for the FIDE World Cup 2025

The winner of the FIDE Women World Cup Divya Deshmukh is the final wild card for the World Chess Cup 2025. The FIDE press release reads, “GM Divya Deshmukh, the reigning FIDE Women’s World Cup winner, has been awarded a wild card for the FIDE World Cup 2025 in Goa by the FIDE President. This follows a last-minute cancellation of one of the participants, with Ju Wenjun and Hou Yifan having earlier declined the invitation.”

Divya Deshmukh will be a wild card together with five more players – Faustino Oro (ARG), Andy Woodward (USA), Volodar Murzin (FID), Abhimanyu Mishra (USA), and Kirill Alekseenko (AUT)
