The ABCs of Capitulation

They’re teaching us their ABCs,
Their language—Crass Capitulese.
How easily they make the call
To let their institutions fall.
Comics work on slender wires—
Colbert, Kimmel, Fallon, Myers.
Who holds the wires in their hands?
Increasingly, they’re Donald fans.
They’re Donald’s men, these oligarchs.
Their meme and nickname—“Greedy Sharks.”
They’re tied to Don—their lives and fate.
To them he is the Chief Thief Great!
They own communication means,
That which we hear and see on screens.
Newspapers too are in their hands.
Think Bezos—who for nothing stands.
As for our universities.
Who’s on their boards? Why, rich trustees.
Thus decay our institutions.
Don’t look to them for wise solutions!
Don’t wait for courage from these men.
If you did, well think again.
No matter how much loot they’ve got.
Over country, they’ll choose yacht!
If we’re to save this great country,
It’s up to folks like you and me.
Now’s not the time to be aloof!
Boycott!!  Protest!!  Raise the roof!!
