Man arrested over Larnaca burglary and weapons theft

A 23-year-old man was arrested in Larnaca on Sunday in connection with a house burglary and the theft of a shotgun and air pistol that occurred in early August.

Police took the suspect into custody shortly after 5pm under a court warrant issued following new evidence uncovered by investigators.

The two weapons were recovered during coordinated searches and seized as evidence.

The 23-year-old is due to appear before the Larnaca district court on Monday for a detention hearing.

A 21-year-old man was also arrested in connection with the case on Saturday and remanded in custody for six days by court order.

Aradippou police are continuing the investigation.
