Sixty-five boxes of untaxed cigarettes found in suitcase

Sixty five untaxed boxes of cigarettes, each with 200 cigarettes, were seized from a 48-year-old Turkish Cypriot woman at Larnaca airport on Sunday.

The tobacco products, found in her luggage as she was preparing to depart for the UK, lacked proper labelling and traceability codes, indicating no tax had been paid.

The woman was detained but later released following an out-of-court settlement.
