Omogenea surface collection by Dimore Surfaces
Dezeen Showroom: Italian brand Dimore Surfaces aimed to capture the beauty of nature at its most powerful with Omogenea, a collection of sintered stone surfaces based on volcanic rock.
Dimore Surfaces' in-house designer Sabastian Holmbäck created the Omogenea collection based on his studies of volcanic processes, aiming to replicate the textures that develop on molten rock as it cools and fractures.
The result is a surface collection that is minimal yet expressive, according to Dimore Surfaces, with a matt, fine-grained appearance and hints of fluidity and incandescence.
There are six styles in the collection, including the classically basalt-dark Granito Carbone, with its deep charcoal colour, and the moody Limo Profondo, which has a brown-grey surface that combines earthiness with shimmer informed by lava beds.
On the purer end of the spectrum, the sandy-beige Luce Lavica exudes calm, while Basalto Grigio delivers a cool grey, enriched with a complex graininess that invites touch.
An ultra-durable alternative to quartz or granite, Dimore Surfaces' sintered stone is made by heating and bonding natural minerals, without the use of resins or binders.
The Omogenea collection is available in three slab sizes.
