15-year-old California girl likely dead for weeks before she was found in singer D4vd’s trunk
Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the 15-year-old girl whose body was found in the trunk of popular singer D4vd’s car, was likely dead for several weeks before police found her decomposing body in a Hollywood tow yard, police said Monday, Sept. 29.
The cause of Rivas Hernandez’s death remains under investigation weeks after police found her dismembered body in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to David Anthony Burke, known as D4vd, on Sept. 9, a day after her 15th birthday. She was previously reported missing from Lake Elsinore last year, when she was 13.

Until they know the cause of death, Los Angeles police said it’s unclear if “there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body.”
The Tesla was impounded earlier this month and towed to the yard after being parked in the same spot for more than three days and being parked in the area for several weeks, police said. While there, staff and neighbors reported a strong smell coming from the car before Rivas Hernandez’s remains were found in a bag in the trunk.
Police seized several items as evidence after executing a search warrant at a home in the 1300 block of Doheny Place where D4vd was known to stay, broadcast reports said, citing Los Angeles police.
D4vd had been on his U.S. Withered tour but canceled future dates after Rivas Hernandez was identified. A representative for the singer has said he is fully cooperating with the investigation into her death.
