This ex-military Blackhawk looks good in civilian livery. Common roles for demilitarized military helicopters like this one include utility, firefighting, and external load work (8,000-9,000 lb sling load). The tail boom has been retrofitted with a BLR aftermarket cowling, utilizing airflow management to increase the effectiveness of the tail rotor for significant increases to hover load and stability. First flown in 1974, more than 5,000 of the “Hawk” helicopter family have been produced.
