The European Parliament plenary on Tuesday asked the European Commission "to ensure prompt support and full transparency in assisting the work" of the parliament's inquiry committee into the diesel emissions scandal. The request was included in an interim report by the committee, which was adopted with 618 votes in favour, 26 against, and seven abstentions. Co-rapporteur Gerben-Jan Gebrandy noted that since the text's drafting, the commission "considerably improved its cooperation".
