'COVID DOGS': Government backs canines to 'sniff out' coronavirus before symptoms emerge

CORONAVIRUS has continued to sweep across the UK, with almost 40,000 people confirmed to have died from the deadly virus. The government has now handed scientists £500,000 to see if dogs - so-called "COVID dogs" - can detect the coronavirus in patients before symptoms emerge.
