As billionaire donations to institutions of higher learning go, the $69 million pledge today from Ronald Perelman and his daughter Debra, pales in comparison to Michael Bloomberg’s November gift of $1.8 billion to Johns Hopkins and Stephen Schwarzman $350 million to MIT.
