‘Big Brother 27’ spoilers: Here’s who wins the Week 1 Veto competition
Gold Derby is covering Big Brother 27 spoilers all summer long. Read at your own risk!
The first nominations of Season 27 were unveiled on Sunday night, with Head of Household Vince Panaro putting Amy Bingham, Ashley Hollis, and Isaiah "Zae" Frederich on the block. Sometime after the nominations ceremony, the first Power of Veto competition took place in the backyard, where the three nominees had the chance of saving themselves from eviction. While CBS won't reveal the winner of the Veto medallion until Wednesday's episode, we have uncovered the results via the live feeds on Paramount+.
First things first, Vince's reason for putting up Zae was because he was a likely challenge threat due to his physical prowess. Also, five players thought Zae was the Mastermind's Accomplice, meaning some people already started out the game not trusting him. As for Ashley, Vince nominated her due to the fallout of "showergate." Long story short, she annoyed the other players by taking a two-hour shower in Vince's private HOH room. But even though he really didn't care, Ashley's paranoid actions following "showergate" revealed that she didn't have complete faith in Vince — and they were supposed to be allies. Lastly, Vince placed Amy on the block because she was super close with Ashley and even cried when she saw how the other players were treating her.
That brings us to the Veto competition. According to the live feeds, the winner of the first Power of Veto of the summer is ... Ashley!
This 25-year-old attorney (and shower enthusiast) from Chicago will undoubtedly use the medallion to remove herself from the chopping block. That means Vince, the unemployed 34-year-old from West Hills, Calif., will have to put up somebody else as a replacement nominee, per the Head of Household rules.
As of this writing, Vince is considering Kelley Jorgensen as a backdoor option. Vince and Kelley created a final two deal on Day 2, and the 29-year-old web designer from Burbank, S.D. blew Vince's mind when she asked him to nominate her as a way of keeping their alliance a secret. Vince initially ignored her idea and went with Zae, Ashley, and Amy instead. But with Ashley about to take herself off the block, it's possible Vince will take Kelley up on her deal. Stay tuned.
CBS will air the Veto episode on Wednesday, July 16. Then, the three nominees will have a chance of saving themselves on Thursday, July 17 via the live BB Blockbuster challenge. The winner will be removed from the block, and one of the two losers will be evicted from the house.
