Amazon’s massive new Arlington fulfillment center has been a matter of record for at least three years (“Amazon’s mammoth ‘PAE2’ warehouse springs to life in Arlington,” The Herald, Aug. 15). The turtle-hearted Washington state Department of Transportation didn’t even announce plans to widen Highway 531 until last year, with a — wait for it — two- to three-year completion date.
