Chad Buchanan: I think it was just a very, very good year for him. I think he felt he kind of found a home with us. He thought this might be a good spot for him and we got him got here. I think he really enjoyed the fans. He enjoyed the system. You know, his family seemed to be happy here as well. So can’t say enough good things about the type of season he had. What’s the biggest thing you’re trying to improve heading into your second NBA season?  Vasilije Micic: I mean, I’m not so into these percentages. Honestly, I think the game is a very spontaneous thing, but maybe spot up threes and be more efficient in that part. Of course, defense is something that every white guy has to do because we are targeted always in defense, but I like to be myself at best, and then if it’s enough, it’s enough, I’m not the worst for sure.

After attempting to make the leap to the NBA for several seasons, Vasilije Micic finally achieved his dream at the ripe age of 30, recently completing his rookie campaign in the league. Micic started his year with the Oklahoma City Thunder and was traded midseason to the Charlotte Hornets.

Tim Bontemps: Kristaps Porzingis said that he’s going to play in Game 1, but that it’s still “open” when it comes to what his conditioning level is going to be. He said he’s done light work on the court the last couple days, & will again today, but has to see how he feels as the game goes on.

League sources say the Rockets have had conversation with the Grizzlies about trading down from this pick, and that the Rockets hold out hope that the Nets would be willing to move Mikal Bridges for it. But those same sources say the Nets, on the contrary, prefer to add pieces around Bridges. If Houston stays put, Clingan or Reed Sheppard seem to be the most likely picks. James L. Edwards III: As for other realistic free-agent options, I think Detroit goes heavily after the likes of Malik Monk, Nic Claxton and Gary Harris. Monk feels like someone the Pistons will heavily prioritize due to the team’s need for legitimate 3-point shooting and off-the-dribble shot creation. Claxton would address the rim protection woes. Harris, despite usually missing several games a season due to injury, is the exact type of 3-and-D role player the Pistons could desperately use.
