Marcus Morris feels no 'ill will' toward Sixers
Still, the veteran from Hunting Park feels no “ill will” toward his hometown team after the Sixers acquired Morris in the early-season James Harden blockbuster trade and then dealt him to the San Antonio Spurs as part of a roster revamp at the February deadline. “I built a really good relationship with those guys,” Marcus Morris said of the Sixers. “A lot of good things happened for me and my family while I was there. … They actually did me a favor by bringing me home, giving me an opportunity to check off something on my bucket list. “I’m happy for them. Still watch them. I still connect with those guys. And I’m rooting for them — just not against us.”

Even though Morris joined the team only 11 days ago, he already senses a strong connection with both the organization and his fellow teammates. “I’m happy I made this decision,” Morris said. “To be honest, it felt like I’ve been here longer than what I’ve really been here. That’s always a good thing when you can fit in and guys can respect you and not even a fear type of thing just respect your word because you’re speaking the right way, you show it in your actions, [and] you come into work every day. And I hang my hat on that.” -via Cleveland Plain Dealer / March 30, 2024
Lauren Rosen: Nick Nurse on former Sixer Marcus Morris, who signed with the Cavs for the rest of the season today: “I miss him, I’ve always really liked him. He brings a level of toughness that I love. He’s a very capable player on both ends, with some size and a lot of physicality.” -via Twitter @LaurenMRosen / March 29, 2024
