Tobias Harris not expected to return to Philadelphia
The 76ers’ biggest potential free agent is forward Tobias Harris, who averaged 17.2 points in the regular season but only 10.8 in this series while making nearly $40 million. League sources expect Harris, who has been at the center of fan frustrations in Philadelphia, to be elsewhere next season.

Ricky Council IV was emphatic in praising Tobias Harris as the vet who took Council under his wing.
Not shown in this clip, but Council says Harris told him that he’ll always be in his corner, regardless of whether they’re teammates. pic.twitter.com/0tO6qWleqt – 2:46 PM

Josh Harris let Butler walk and then spent over half a billion $$$ on Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, Al Horford and Doc Rivers. Morey brought in Maxey but he’s still digging out of that 2019 crater. – 11:39 AM

Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks made big-time shots.
This couldn’t have been the way Tobias Harris wanted to end what was potentially his last game with the 76ers. And Philly is still an underachieving squad.

And this will probably be how Tobias Harris will be remembered as there’s a great chance Thursday was his last game in Philly.
“Not really thinking about that, but thanks,” Harris said.

Sixers lose, 118-115. Sixers lose in 6 games.
Joel Embiid fouled out with 39 points and 13 rebounds, left it all on the court.
Tobias Harris, in ostensibly his last game as a Sixer, scored 0 points on 0-for-2 shooting in 29 minutes of play. – 11:41 PM

Wondered if we’d see Tobias Harris again, but he’s checking back in. He’s 0-for-1 from the floor for zero points in (potentially) his final game as a Sixer. Lowry is going to stay on the bench in favor of Batum. – 11:23 PM

Knicks open the quarter 9-5 with Joel Embiid on the bench to take a 92-88 lead. Timeout Nick Nurse. 8:54 left and one has to assume that big fella will be back after this timeout.
Of note, Tobias Harris is scoreless and has taken one shot. Need to get him involved. #Sixers – 11:02 PM

More on this storyline
Los Angeles is home to about 46,000 homeless people, a 10% increase from last year and 10,000 more than since the coronavirus pandemic, according to the Daily Mail. Los Angeles County also had a shortage of nearly 500,000 affordable homes in 2022, according to the LA County Annual Affordable Housing Outcomes Report. In December 2022, however, Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass signed an executive order to fast-track approval for affordable housing projects. Since the mayor’s order, Los Angeles has received plans for more than 13,770 affordable units, according to data provided by the city’s planning department. That is just slightly less than the total number of housing units developed from 2020 to 2022. Terry Harris said that he and his brother have been aided by the fast-tracking of affordable housing development. -via Andscape / May 2, 2024
Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris and his brother and former G League forward Terry Harris never got to play with or against each other in the NBA. But they are teaming up to bring much needed affordable housing to Los Angeles. The Harris brothers said they are currently in development to bring 270 affordable housing units in three locations to the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The projects include a 33-unit development, 93-unit development with retail, and a 190-unit development. The goal is to have 1,000 units in development in neighborhoods across the city by the end of the year. Terry Harris said that all of the properties are expected to be built from scratch and not refurbished old buildings. -via Andscape / May 2, 2024
“This is a project that my younger brother and myself are in the works on now,” Tobias Harris told Andscape. “We are always figuring out ways to give back. In Los Angeles, there is a housing shortage. A lot of this is his initiative that I am supporting. It’s still early, but we’re working on a lot of things to make it happen.” -via Andscape / May 2, 2024
