Taylor Swift fans raise money for Florida bride who planned on selling autographed guitar to pay for wedding

Future bride Emily Harris planned on selling her Swift-signed guitar to help pay for her upcoming wedding, but "some very nice and hardcore Swifties" were against the sale.

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) -- There will be no teardrops on this Tampa bride's guitar, all thanks to the help of Taylor Swift's loyal fans, also known as "Swifties."

Devoted Swiftie and future bride Emily Harris planned on selling her Swift-signed guitar to help pay for her upcoming wedding, but "some very nice and hardcore Swifties" were against the sale.

Swifties instead proposed Harris create a GoFundMe so they can help raise funds for her November wedding.

"We are so excited to celebrate together this November, and in order to make sure our family and friends can be together with us, there are expenses that continue creeping up. I was hoping to find someone who would benefit from this signed guitar as much as I can use the sale to pay for our wedding. Countless fans told me to start a Go Fund Me instead, so here we are!" Harris wrote on GoFundMe.

After creating her GoFundMe, donations from Swifties began to pour in, with amounts ranging from $13 (Swift's famous lucky number) to $333, and sure enough, Harris' goal of $1,813 was quickly met.

"From one Swiftie to another, I hope your wedding meets your wildest dreams!" a donor wrote.

Another coined a line from Swift's hit "Paper Rings," saying, "I’m sure you two would marry each other with paper rings, but maybe enjoy some shiny things too."

"Keep the guitar. The wedding is one moment. The marriage and the love you share is forever. May it grow into many beautiful gestures of love like the gift of that guitar. Your father is setting a great example of demonstrating love by finding meaningful moments for you. Keep that kind of love throughout your marriage and you will have the best Love Story!" another Swiftie added.

Harris, a board-certified behavior analyst who specializes in non-speaking children and teens with autism, said she and her fiancé Jake have been engaged since April 2023 and have been excitedly planning their wedding ever since she said "Yes!"

"This is a very, very kind suggestion and we will definitely pay it forward when we can," she said.
