Mike Boynton is out as Basketball Head Coach at Oklahoma State
KFOR has confirmed that OSU head basketball coach, Mike Boynton is out.
STILLWATER, Okla. (KFOR) — Oklahoma State has parted ways with head basketball coach Mike Boynton, News 4's Dylan Buckingham has confirmed.
Boynton spent seven seasons at OSU leading the Cowboys to the NCAA Tournament in 2021 as a four seed. His career record at school was 119-109. That despite dealing with NCAA sanctions and violations hanging over the program.
Boynton finished the 2023-24 campaign 12-20 on a six game losing streak.
“For seven years, Coach Boynton has led this program and represented this university with class,” Weiberg said. “We’re grateful for the genuine passion and care he has for the student-athletes on our team. Unfortunately, the desired results have not followed. Therefore, it is time to part ways and begin a new chapter. We wish Coach Boynton and his family the very best.”

Since Eddie Sutton left, OSU is 136-168 in Big 12 play.
News 4 has also learned that a team meeting has been scheduled for Thursday.
A national search is underway for his replacement.
