Oklahomans go green for St. Patrick's Day celebration

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The luck of the Irish made its way into Oklahoma City on Sunday as people stopped by Shamrock the Gardens at Myriad Gardens.

Sounds of live music from Ravens Three and Flowers of Edinburgh filled the air, along with Irish dancing from the Mcteggart Irish Dancers.

It's not a St. Patrick's Day celebration without some bagpipers either. The Oklahoma Scottish Pipe and Drums group performed at the event.

The river also got in on the fun and turned green for St. Patrick's Day.

Crowds filled the grounds and some people even traveled from out of state to visit family in Oklahoma and come see the big event.

"We're from Ohio. Cleveland area. We come every year for our grandchildren, for spring break and St Patrick's Day. I have to tell you, I brag constantly. This is the best festival, family friendly festival ever," said Sheila Hicks, who goes every year.
