One dead, one arrested after car crash in Oklahoma City

One person has died and another has been arrested following a car crash in northeast Oklahoma City Saturday morning.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - One person has died and another has been arrested following a car crash in Oklahoma City Saturday morning.

According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, officers responded to the area of E. Sheridan Ave. and Lincoln Blvd. around 2:30 a.m. after receiving a call from a woman saying she was in an accident.

Officers found Lashay Rhodes past the dead end on the east side of the railroad tracks in that area. Officials say Rhodes had been driving eastbound on E. Sheridan when she crossed Lincoln Blvd. at a high rate of speed going eastbound on a one-way westbound street.

OKCPD says she drove past the dead end, through a fence, over a dirt berm, past a concrete barrier and over the railroad tracks where the car stopped on its side.

Upon arrival, police say Rhodes showed signs of intoxication but refused to be tested. A warrant was later obtained for a blood test.

There was one passenger in the vehicle, Joshua Neal, who was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Officials say Rhodes was arrested and is facing charges for First Degree Manslaughter, Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol, Speeding and Wrong Way On One Way Road.
