Farmers Market at Scissortail Park returns in April
The Farmers Market at Scissortail Park is returning to Oklahoma City for its fifth season.
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The Farmers Market at Scissortail Park is returning to Oklahoma City for its fifth season.
According to Scissortail Park, the weekly Farmers Market is scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown OKC. The market will continue through October 2024.
“It’s hard to remember downtown Oklahoma City without Scissortail Park and the wonderful Farmers Market that we have created for our community,” said Maureen Heffernan, CEO of Scissortail Park Foundation and Myriad Gardens Foundation.
The market features Oklahoma producer-only vendors offering products like fresh produce, meats, baked goods, drinks, honey, specialty foods and crafted goods. Also, nutritional assistance programs like Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Assistance Program (SFMNP) and Double Up Oklahoma (DUO) are available.
“I always look forward to my Saturday morning market trips to support our local farms and small businesses while I fill-up my pantry with delicious, fresh groceries for the week. We invite everyone to come out for our fifth season and enjoy the festival-like atmosphere with shopping, wellness classes, live music and more at Scissortail Park. Plus, guests can also participate in our Taking Flight Wind and Kite Festival on Saturday, April 6 from 10am – 2pm on the Love’s Travel Stops Great Lawn.” Heffernan added.
During market weekends, officials say there is free parking around the perimeter of the Park and in the special event parking lot on the northwest corner of Oklahoma City Boulevard and Thunder Drive across from Paycom Center.
Also, the Veggie Valet, a popular drive-up loading zone on Oklahoma City Boulevard, will continue this season. Guests are welcome to leave their packages at the Veggie Valet as they shop, and then pull up in their cars for curbside pickup.
