Two cats safe after apartment fire erupts in Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. (KFOR) — Saving the lives of humans is always the main priority when it comes to the duties of first responders, however, the safety of our pets stays true to families hearts as well.

Recently a fire broke out at an apartment complex located in Tulsa and local fire department and EMSA responded. Once EMSA responded to the scene of the fire, they were informed that all residents living in the apartment safely evacuated from the building.

Tulsa firefighters searched the building and found two cats that were suffering from smoke inhalation. The fire crew exited the building and brought the two felines to the EMSA that were on scene.

EMT's Maraya Ritter and Elmer Crane IV treated the two cats by providing them with some oxygen and shortly after they became responsive.

The two cats were reunited with their owner after receiving the treatment.
