GameStop $4.5 million settlement: How to submit your claim
NEW YORK (WPIX) - GameStop customers may be entitled to a payment as part of a class-action settlement filed in New York State.
According to the lawsuit, Alejandro Aldana and Scott Gallie v. GameStop, Inc., the company shared online customers' personally identifiable information to Facebook via the Facebook Tracking Pixel without consent in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act.
To be able to submit a claim, you must have purchased a video game from the GameStop website between Aug. 18, 2020, and April 17, 2025. At the time of the purchase, you must have also been a member of Facebook and maintained a public Facebook profile using your actual name.
The last day to submit a claim form is Aug. 15.
If the court approves the settlement, GameStop will offer either a cash payment of up to $5 or a voucher of up to $10 for use on its website.
