Metro couple face limbo as roofing company goes silent
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A metro couple has been left in limbo for almost eight months, after a company they hired to replace their roof never even started the job.
"The last time we heard anything from them was in February, and nothing since then. In the meantime, the damage is getting worse," said Paul Franson, a metro homeowner who needs a new roof.
Cary and Paul Franson signed a contract in November with Evolve Construction and Restoration to replace their roof. In February, they picked out shingles, and that was the last time they heard from the company.
"It's completely frustrating to hear nothing, to have no communications, even though we keep asking, 'When can we get this started? Are we, are we moving forward with it?' Somebody tell me something, just talk to me," said Franson.
News 4 went to the Oklahoma office listed on Evolve's website. However, we found a company called 'Regus,' which provides virtual office spaces, and they say Evolve Construction is not a client.
So, we called the phone number associated with the company that is registered on Oklahoma's Construction Industries Board website and asked to speak with the owner of the company.
The person who answered the phone asked why we were calling their cell phone and hung up.
We also tried calling the phone number on the company's website, but were not able to talk with anyone in the company.
The Fransons say they just need the project done, but worry they'll owe money if they try to break the contract.
"At this point, we just want them to come fix it or let us out of the contract so we can find somebody else to fix it," said Franson.
News 4 reached out to the Fransons' insurance company, and they are looking into the matter.
We have also asked if the Attorney General's office would like to weigh in, and have not yet heard back.
