Residents frustrated after trash overflows at housing complex
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — One Oklahoma City housing complex is dealing with some big trash troubles as their dumpsters are extremely full. Several residents said it smells horrible and is an eyesore to look at.
"The trash stays like this for about two weeks. The smell is always disgusting. It always smells like rotten trash," said Taylor Messner, who lives at the complex.
This is the reality for residents at Wedgewood Village. The photo is one of many dumpsters overflowing with trash.
"We have maintenance come out, they push it closer to the trash can, and we complain about it consistently because it happens so often, it's crazy," said Messner.
Several residents talked to News 4 and said they're frustrated that it doesn't get cleaned up faster. They even try to go to the management office to voice their concern.
"It just stays like this, so we don't know," said Messner.
News 4 knocked on the office door, but no one answered. Our team also called the office and left a voicemail.
We also called the company that oversees this management office and talked to someone on the line.
"So what I can do is take your information and have their office give you a call back," someone said.
News 4 also tried to get in touch with the trash agency that serves this community.
"You would have to deal with the apartment management," someone said.
"We have kids that are out here playing every day, they smell it, we smell it, we just wanna live in a nice clean area just like the surrounding area," said Messner.
News 4 has not received a call to learn more about when the trash will be cleaned for residents.
